SPACE  TECHNOLOGIES

About our Space Tech Program.

AmeriCorp's ventures into space technologies is promulgated via its tech incubator, AmeriTech, via its subsidiary, Galactic Sciences & Exploration [GSE] and its operating division, "Ad Astra Technologies" [AdAstra or AAT], which focusses on laser communications technology, which takes an innovative approach to space communication, alongside the Deep Space Network, signifying a shift towards more efficient and advanced methods of space communication, opening doors for new investment opportunities in this domain.

AAT is dedicated to observing Earth from space via a range of satellites to understand the complexities of our planet, particularly with respect to global change. Today’s satellites are used to forecast the weather, answer important Earth-science questions, provide essential information to improve agricultural practices, maritime safety, help when disaster strikes, and all manner of everyday applications.

The need for information from satellites is growing at an ever-increasing rate and AAT remains dedicated to developing cutting-edge spaceborne technology to further understand the planet, improve daily lives and support effect policy-making for a more sustainable future.

Sectors

Laser Communications Technology

Optical, or laser, communications enable 10 to 100 times more data transmitted back to Earth than current radio frequency systems and is a "free-space optical communication" in outer space. By transporting data at rates up to 100 times higher than radio frequencies, lasers can enable the transmission of complex scientific information as well as high-definition imagery and video, which are needed to support humanity's next giant leap when astronauts travel into space.

Asteroid Mining

Asteroid mining is the planned extraction of materials from asteroids and other minor planets, including near-Earth objects. Notable asteroid mining challenges include the high cost of spaceflight, unreliable identification of asteroids which are suitable for mining, and the challenges of extracting usable material in a space environment. While still highly speculative technique, the research and technology to successfully exploit these mineral resources is still under development as it is the process of extracting precious metals and minerals from space asteroids. The process involves using robots to locate and extract targeted minerals and metals.

Space A.I.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used in space exploration to:

  • Direct Research: AI-supported algorithms can direct research in space.

  • Design smarter vehicles and robots: AI can help design smarter vehicles and robots.

  • Plan and schedule missions: AI can be used to plan missions to space by analyzing data from previous missions to develop models of the target environment.

  • Analyze Data: AI can analyze satellite data to reveal trends and patterns, including using machine learning to discover exoplanets from satellite data.

  • Support Autonomous Spacecraft: AI can help spacecraft and aircraft operate autonomously. For example, AI can help space vehicles navigate and land on planets or asteroids.

  • Manage Space Junk: AI can help track space junk that orbits Earth.

  • Design Propulsion Systems: AI can be used to design new rocket engines that are more efficient and powerful.

  • Control AI-enhanced Robots: AI can be used to control a robot that explores the far reaches of space.

  • AI can help make space exploration more efficient, safe, and sustainable.
